Portmahomack is an excellent base for fishing on rivers, lochs and the sea. Major salmon rivers are nearby including the Shin, Oykel, Cassley, Carron, Brora, Helmsdale, Beauly, Alness and Ness. There are literally hundreds of lochs for trout and other fish within a two hour drive of The Port.

No permits are required for sea fishing. Sea fishing charters are available from the harbour in Portmahomack.
