Launching your sailing dinghy, power boat or other water craft is easy at The Port. There is good beach access for launching trailers and the top end of the harbour can be accessed at lower states of the tide.

If you are arriving on a yacht, good holding can be found on the sandy bottom and the bay is sheltered from the worst of the weather from the east or north-east by the Tarbat peninsula. Beach access is free but there are harbour dues. Check for current fees. The harbour has lighting and navigation markers. There is a local HM Coastgurd unit and an inshore rescue boat is operated from Dornoch 5 miles across the water.
